A great god is Ahuramazda, who created this earth, who created yonder sky, who created man, who created happiness for man, who made Xerxes king, one king of many, one lord of many. I am Xerxes, the Great King, King of Kings, King of countries containing many kinds (of men), King in this great earth far and wide, son of King Darius, an Achaemenian. Proclaims Xerxes the King: By the favor of Ahuramazda, this Colonnade of All Lands I built. Much other good (construction) was built within this Parsa, which I built and which my father built. Whatever good construction is seen, all that by the favor Ahuramazda we built. Proclaims Xerxes the King: Me may Ahuramazda protect, and my kingdom, and what was built by me, and what was built by my father, that also may Ahuramazda protect.
